Dr Amita Sarkar is a Clinical Psychologist with over 30 years’ experience of working with various clients including children, adolescents, adults and families. Prior to moving to Melbourne, she worked as a clinical psychologist in the UK and Singapore.

With a focus on the person rather than the problem or diagnosis, I practice psychological formulation, spending time to understand my clients’ backgrounds, relationships, stressors, and current environments before devising tailored treatment plans.

I adopt a reflective, warm, compassionate, and collaborative approach. I strive to establish a strong therapeutic alliance, understanding clients’ well-being goals, and identifying optimal ways to work together.
